I am so glad you are here!
My goal in writing a blog is to obey God. I have felt prompted to do so for 4 years now, but after my Dad's recent passing I realize how brief our time really is.
We really are just vapors, as the Bible says. We are here today, and gone tomorrow.
I have been reviewing what I want to leave as my legacy. In so doing, I have updated my life mission statement. Here it is:
My life mission is to encourage, educate and cultivate biblical emotional wisdom in myself, my family, clients and patients so we can understand our God-given identities, have healthy relationships with God and others, practice God-honoring self-care and have healthy coping skills to handle life as it comes.
So, today I set out to encourage, educate and cultivate biblical emotional wisdom in you!
What do YOU want to leave behind?
How are you going to accomplish that?
One thing I know to be true (because I get lost a lot--I literally have no sense of direction!): when we know where we're going, we will just go there.
There may be traffic.
There may be distraction.
There may be weather.
There may be a detour.
Or you may recall a pit stop you need to make on the way.
The point is, you get there.
BUT, if you don't know where you're going, the chances of getting there are very slim. Even GPS won't work if you don't know your destination. And that, my friends, can cause a lot of unneccessary worry, drama, mess and heartache.
Do you know where you're going in this life?
Do you know why you're going there?
If not, I urge you to consider taking some steps to find out about who you are, your likes and dislikes, your strengths and weaknesses, your priorities. And after you consider these, you can figure out YOUR purpose. Because YOUR purpose IS YOUR purpose!
Right now, choose to embark on this journey.
What is your life mission?
Developing YOUR life mission will let you know when to say yes and when to say no!
